The son
of Alfred and Mary, of Stopford Road Street, and later Dumaresq Street,
St Helier. Prior to the war he lived in David Place, St Helier.
At some time in 1916 he was contracted Rheumatic Fever and evacuated to England for treatment. Having been passed fit again, he returned to active service with the Jersey Company early in 1917. In March 1917, he died of wounds on the 9th in No 2 Casualty Clearing Station at Bailleul, having received multiple wounds in a German trench raid on the previous day .
