The son
of Charles and Rebecca of Gorey Village, Grouville. Prior to the war
he still lived in Gorey Village, Grouville, working as a butcher. His
brothers Frank and George also served with the Jersey Company.
After starting training in Ireland he was discharged from the Army due to ill health in June 1915.
