The son
of Charles and Mary, of Gorey Village, Grouville. Prior to the war he
worked as a shop assistant.
After training and going to France with the rest of the Jersey Company, in February 1916 he was sent back to the Royal Irish Depot Battalion due to various veins. He did not return to active service until April 1917. Slightly wounded in May 1917 by a gunshot wound to his side. Wounded again in September 1918 and evacuated to England. Discharged from the Army in March 1919. Later the president of the Contingent Association.
