The son
of Alfred and Ester, of Providence Street, St Helier. Prior to the war
he was living in Albert Street, St Helier, and working as a carter.
His brother Arthur also served with the Jersey Company.
Slightly wounded in February 1916 and then again seriously in the fighting at Guillemont / Ginchy in September 1916. The head injury resulted in the loss of hearing and the sight in one eye. As a result, he was discharged from the Army on medical grounds in June 1917. In November 1919, he died of illness reportedly caused by his wounds.
