The son
of Edward and Alice, of Greve D'Azzette, St Clement.
Wounded in the figthing at Guillemont / Ginchy in September 1916, he was treated in Abbey Hospital, Beford. Returning to duty, was wounded twice near Frezenberg in August 1917 while serving as a HQ runner. During the same period he was awarded the Military Medal for bravery. After treatment for his injuries in Torbay Hospital he returned to transfer to 2nd Hampshire Regiment with the rest of the Jersey Company.
