The son
of Thomas, of Le Geyt Street, St Helier. In 1915, he was living in Clarevale
Road, St Helier, married to Alice with two children and working as a
groom.
Wounded in the back during the attack on Ginchy in September 1916, he was evacuated to a Military Hospital in York for treatment. He returned to the front in January 1917 and served throughout 1917. In January 1918, he transferred to 2nd Hampshire Regiment with the rest of the Jersey Company. In September 1918 he was wounded again, this time in the arm. Evacuated to England for treatment, he did not return to active service. Demobilised from the Army in February 1919.
