The son
of John and Ann, of Brooklyn Place, St Helier. Married to Amy. His three
brothers, John, Alfred, and George, also fought in the war although
in units other than the Jersey Company.
After training in Ireland and Aldershot he went to the front with the Jersey Company in December 1915. Served through 1916 and 1917 before transferring to 2nd Hampshire Regiment along with most other remaining Jersey Company members in January 1918. Killed in action on 17 June 1918 while serving near the French Town of Hazebrouck. Tragically, his daughter was born on the same day news of his death arrived in Jersey
