The son
of Pierre and Louisa, of St Martin's Main Road, St Saviour.
Trained as a sniper in March 1916. In June that year he was wounded, suffering injuries to his eyes. Treated in a London hospital, it is not clear whether he ever returned to service with the Jersey Company. At some point, however, he did transfer to the Royal Irish Regiment, and served with it in Eygpt, possibly with its 1st Battalion or 1st Garrison Battalion.
