The son
of John and Ann, of New Road, Grouville. At the time of joining the
Army, he was married with two children to Maud, living at Eversley,
St Brelade, and employed as a professional golfer at La Moye.
In June 1916, he was evacuated having been wounded or become ill, returning to duty in October that year. In March the following year, he was captured in a German trench raid and made prisoner of war. He returned to the Island in December 1918, and was officially discharged from the Army in March 1919.
