The
son of Joseph and Selina, of St Aubin's Road, St Helier. Prior to the
war he lived at First Tower, St Helier, and worked as a plasterer.
Reportedly a fine footballer, and a member of the Jersey Company team in April 1915, he trained in Ireland and Aldershot before going to the front with the Jersey Company in December 1915. Served there through 1916 until September when he was killed during the attack on Ginchy. In the months that followed, his family heard initially that he was missing before receiving confirmation of his death in December.
