The son
of Charles and Priscilla. At the time of the war, his mother, now widowed,
lived at 2 Union Place, Gorey. At the time of joining the Army he worked
as a hairdresser. His brother Arthur also served in the Jersey Company.
Known as 'Chas', he was Killed in action while putting our wire on a night time working party. Wounded in the abdomen and legs, he was carried to a frontline dressing station where he died in the presence of his brother.
