The son
of Frank & Elizabeth, of Beach Road, Greve D'Azette, St Clement.
Three of his brothers also served during the war.
Trained as a Guide and a Bomber in March 1916. Wounded in the arms and leg on the 19th of April, he was taken in a critical condition to the 33rd Casualty Clearing Station at Bethune. His parents initially had a letter from the chaplain to say that was comfortable; then heard a few days later that he had died on the 20th. The chaplain wrote that 'he was quite resigned to go. He sent his love, and said that they were not to be anxious or fret for him.'
